Prier to last Blog I talked about my my job at Subway.
I decided to quit my job at subway regardless of the success I was having there. That job
was not suiting me mainly due to the management of the franchise.
I only worked at Subway for 4 weeks. I ventured off in search of a new job. This time I was looking
for a higher hourly wage as well as some kind of big store environment. I was having no success
finding anything on-line, so I started to drive around shopping centers. Asking my self, "would I want
to work there?". Constantly looking for hiring signs in windows of the stores. One day I was driving
around I went into Sports Authority and asked them if they had a work age limit, and if I could have

limit of 18 years or older. Note that at this time I
was only 16 years old. This pissed me off because it
made me feel like there was no good way of making
real money until you get older. After that set back I
continued driving around the next morning, I caught
a glimpse of a part-time job sign on the window. I
parked and as I was walking up to the sign to get a
better look a salesperson had just opened the store.
He asked me if he could help me out with anything. I told him I was looking for a job and asked if
there were any hiring positions in the store. He said, "I'm not quiet sure", so he told me to walk all the
way to the back of the store and ask the reps at the back office. As I was talking to the representatives
in the back office they told me in order to work in the back office you have to be 18 years or older.
But the warehouse was now hiring. Right a way I talked to the manager and he gave me a quick
interview with one of the other assistant managers at the time. I filled out some paper work and
within 2 long weeks of waiting I was hired! This job was everything I was looking for it offered me a
new skill set that I was very interested in, a big store environment; professional, appreciative,
friendly, workers and a good $10 an hour wage. Little did I know this job was the first link in a chain
that would inspire me to do many things, such as produce blogs.

What a wonderfully positive, hardworking young man. I can only praise the determination of young people, who are often under valued. He proved his worth and is now flourishing in a job that perhaps he once would not have considered. Thank goodness there are good companies around that consider how valuable the younger generation are.
